Crown & Bridge

Crowns are used to protect heavily filled or broken teeth. Unlike dental implants that can fully restore a lost tooth, crowns are used when there is some tooth structure remaining. We shape the remaining tooth into an appropriate shape for the crown, and then build a crown that is cemented on top of it. The resulting structure is tooth-like in appearance and is fully usable for chewing, as a normal tooth would be. Bridges are sometimes referred to as permanent partial dentures, as they replace missing teeth. They are non-removable, but use existing tooth structure to replicate the shape of the missing tooth. These bridges span spaces of different sizes, and if they are done correctly and by a skilled dentist, they can last a very long time and look very natural.
