We offer two different types of fillings for you to choose from: the more traditional silver (amalgam) fillings and the newer, tooth-colored, composite fillings.
The application process for the two types of fillings involve the removal of all decay while the patient is under a local anesthetic and then filling the area excavated during decay removal, and in the case of composite fillings, bonding the filling to the tooth.
The procedure is virtually painless, and after removing the decay and filling the tooth, any pain associated with the decay is gone.
The difference between the two types of fillings is primarily cosmetic. Amalgam fillings are silver in color, and as such, some customers prefer the composite fillings for aesthetic reasons. Silver fillings are slightly more durable and less expensive, however, so all of these factors should be weighed as you choose between them.
